Uploaded Feb 21, 2018The Shop with a Cop Foundation hosted their annual Heroes & Helpers Breakfast in which students from Santee Elementary were rrecognized for their reading efforts. The Readers are Leaders Program has been extremely beneficial as we continue to work on closing the achievement gap, and at a school where over 70% of students are English Language Learners, the reading programs have continued to be of huge benefit. We know that all learning is built on the foundation of reading. It is amazing to see over 70 students participating in the Heroes & Helpers Shopping Spree as a result of making substantial growth in reading.
