The Franklin-McKinley School District Board of Education is a dedicated group of community leaders who are elected to overlapping four-year terms. The Board of Education is dedicated to ensuring the success of every student in the District through clear, concise direction to the Superintendent. The Board of Education brings a wealth of real-world experience and concern for children to their position.
The duties of the Board include adopting the annual budget, approving all expenditures, establishing District policy, authorizing employment of personnel, approving community partnerships, and approving new and innovative academic initiatives. The Franklin-McKinley School District (FMSD) is soliciting applications from persons who wish to be considered to fill a vacancy on the Board. John Lindner has resigned his position, effective February 28, 2018. The appointment will be for the remaining of the Board vacancy that ends on November 2020.
Community members who are interested in consideration of the appointment must be a qualified voter and resident of FMSD at the time of the appointment. Applications are available on the District’s website and in the Office of the Superintendent located at 645 Wool Creek Drive, San Jose, CA, 95112.
