According to the Center for Disease Control, drinking fluoridated water keeps teeth strong and reduces cavities (also called tooth decay) by about 25% in children and adults. By preventing cavities, community water fluoridation has been shown to save money for families and for the US healthcare system.
All residents of the area codes listed above should be receiving a letter from the San Jose Water Company, notifying them of the fluoridation of water supply. We wanted to ensure families were aware, particularly those who currently have their children taking fluoride drops or tablets.
