Mental Health
The physical, emotional, and social well-being of a student is critical to their academic success and future accomplishments. Through collaborations with the Santa Clara County Department of Behavioral Health and other community agencies and partners, Franklin-McKinley School District established a sustainable infrastructure that maximizes resources and utilizes current staff to provide services to all students in the District.
School Linked Services
School Linked Services (SLS) offers on-site school-based services to heal and strengthen individuals, families and systems by addressing needs and risks faced by children, youth, and families.
School site staff may send a referral request to the School Linked Services Specialist who will work with the parent/guardian to identify appropriate referral services. The School Linked Services Specialist will make contact with the parent/guardian within 5 business days of receiving the initial request.
Reasons for referral include: change in academic performance, chronic absenteeism, stress, grief and loss, self-harm, suicidal ideation, sudden change in behavior, drug and alcohol abuse, and mental health concerns.
Social Work Interns
The Franklin-McKinley School District welcomes Bachelor and Master level social work interns from local universities. Social work interns are involved with students one-on-one, in group settings, and with parents in support of their child’s attendance and well-being.
