About Dahl
Captain Jason M. Dahl Elementary School is a Transitional Kindergarten-6th grade school located in East San Jose. We proudly serve approximately 540 students. Dahl school first opened in 1955 under the name of Hillsdale. The school was renamed in 2002 after a former student at Hillsdale, Captain Jason M. Dahl, who was a pilot on September 11, 2001 of United Airlines Flight #93. Dahl staff works very hard to keep his legacy as a hero alive by emphasizing with students the need for positive character traits, such as diligence, perseverance, honesty, respect and responsibility.
The school implements the Sobrato Early Academic Language (SEAL) program in grades Kindergarten through 3rd, which is a comprehensive model of enriched language and literacy education designed for English language learners.

About Shirakawa
George Shirakawa Sr. School is located across from the District offices, in the central part of the Franklin-McKinley School District. We serve a student population that is approximately 45% Hispanic or Latino, 42% Asian, 6% White and 7% other. As of September 2019, 62% of all students participate in the free/reduced lunch program.
Shirakawa’s teachers are committed to meeting the instructional needs of all students by using a data-driven, school-wide system for increasing student learning, improving instructional and management processes, and increasing the satisfaction of all stakeholders – students, parents, staff and community.
We offer a coordinated instructional program for all grade levels. All students learn and build on basic skills and concepts through a rich and engaging curriculum. BRIDGES ACADEMY is a New Tech Network school which implements a rigorous common core aligned curriculum and uses project-based learning to create relevancy for all students. Bridges Academy implements restorative justice which empowers students to resolve conflicts on their own and in small groups.Essentially,the idea is to bring students together in peer mediated small groups to talk,

About CCA
The College Connection Academy is an unprecedented award-winning collaborative effort among the Franklin-McKinley School District, East Side Union High School District, Evergreen Valley College, and San Jose State University.
