CAASPP

California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP)

The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is a standardized assessment administered to students in grades 3rd-8th.  The primary purpose of the CAASPP System is to assist teachers, administrators, students, and parents by promoting high-quality teaching and learning through the use of a variety of assessment approaches and item types.

The CAASPP System consists of the following assessments:

  • Smarter Balanced English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics

  • California Alternate Assessments for ELA, mathematics, and science

  • California Science Test (CAST)

  • California Spanish Assessment (CSA)

  • Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments
