911 is of course a day for us to remember and reflect but for children who weren't even born then this is a day to learn and those lessons come into sharp focus at Captain Jason M Dahl Elementary in San Jose which is named after the pilot of Flight 93 a former student they're joining the principal of doll Elementary Elizabeth herbstreith Elizabeth we really appreciate you coming on today tell us that how you commemorate this day at your school day and classroom and there's also some artwork planes put together that are younger students have a more detailed assembly time and discussion when Captain doll sister joined us and we're having that next week display that's up right there in the middle of your campus to honor Captain Dahl and his legacy and of course he's a former student there as we pointed out display and what do you tell your stew about his legacy and his class pictures with his teachers great student he was a great friend very hard walk the same hallways sat in the same seats and he had a passion and so we we try to promote that with our students finding your passion my point Everett mate B and pursue that and for Captain for Jason it was because we are directly underneath the airport perfectly situated there at your so obviously none of your students there were even close to being born when the September 11th attacks happened how do you or are you able to convey to them the significance of the day I am mentioned in his sister X and we gently talk about tragedies in life and things that happen but we celebrate the life and the people who have passed and their accomplishments and what they have done the character that they have displayed when he was the student everyone spoke about what a good friend we try to promote that are character education themes are about Captain Dahl and I'm doing my best just like Captain doll when I show perseverance when I show diligent when I M A friend when I'm carrying so that's how we do it throughout the year the principal of Dahl Elementary School in San Jose really appreciate you coming on thank you so much
