congratulations Franklin McKinley School District we finally made it to the end of the school year that none of us will ever forget with the same optimism and excitement that the beginning of the school year brings with it never in our wildest dreams could we have ever imagined how dramatically the world was about to change we would never have imagined the uncertainty the fear and the pain the world was going to experience our teachers Rose to the challenge and continued working to both Inspire and educate our students and works hard to ensure that the district continued moving forward and made sure our students had access to distance learning and a variety of support services are parents and Community were asked to give so much of themselves and an effort to work with us and try to maintain some level of normalcy in the lives of our students and in the process demonstrated how our district is more than our buildings our district is a close Community where everyone supports everyone because we recognized that we will always rise to the challenge or everything you did to make this difficult year is success I wish you an enjoyable summer of rest and relaxation but also a reflection we can't wait to see you next year

The US Department of Education reports that the number of STEM/STEAM jobs in the United States will grow by 14% from 2010 to 2020, growth that the Bureau of Labor Statistics terms as “much faster “ than the national average of 5-8 % across all job sectors.

Recognizing the large need to expose students to a high quality STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning environment, Sylvandale Middle School will be unveiling their latest interactive lab. The STEAM Lab will be available to students at the Middle School to explore careers in computer science, coding, digital media, and much more.
