Comcast Cares Day at Sylvandale Middle School

Comcast Cares Day is a celebration of the company’s year-round commitment to service and has grown to become the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer event.

Since 2001, more than one million Comcast NBC Universal employees, their friends, family members and our community partners have volunteered nearly six million service hours at nearly 10,000 projects in communities across the United States and around the world.

Last year, more than 115,000 Comcast Cares Day volunteers participated in more than 1,200 community project sites in 23 countries around the globe.

Comcasts' goal was to continue growing this effort! This year in California, they had more than 3,000 employees, friends, family and community volunteering at more than eight schools and community sites across the state.

The project at Sylvandale Middle School was one of those and included cleaning and weeding on the campus grounds, painting and building hygiene and dental kits. Some of the kits stayed at Sylvandale and some will be distributed throughout the bay area.

Councilmember Maya Esparza and Assemblymember Ash Kalra attended the event as well to show their support for all the volunteers in attendance.
