The physical, emotional and social well-being of a student is critical to their academic success and future accomplishments. Through collaborations with the Santa Clara County Department of Behavioral Health and other community agencies and partners, the Franklin-McKinley School District has established a sustainable infrastructure that maximizes resources and utilizes current staff to provide services to all students in the district.

 

School-based mental health services are routinely provided in a school setting by trained mental health

professionals (i.e. School social Workers) focused on prevention, intervention, and crisis. These services support the mental, behavioral, and social-emotional health of students and promote success in the learning process.

 

 

 

Franklin-McKinley School District welcomes Bachelor and Master level Social Work Interns from local Universities. Social Work Interns are involved with students one on one, in group settings, and with parents in support of their child’s attendance and overall well-being. The Intern Training Program is a staple component of the Student Wellness & Support Services Program.
